As a result of the importance of gastronomy in Spanish culture, gastronomy research and training centres have been created in recent years.
In this respect, the creation of the Basque Culinary Centre, a global reference in gastronomy and gastronomic tourism, should be mentioned. In the near future, the International Centre for Mediterranean Gastronomic Culture will be launched in the region of Valencia.
